My View

I started reading a Machine Translation (MTL) of the webnovel around 2016/2017 and fan translations of the manga. I was hooked. I did end up forgetting about it for awhile since the MTL was rough to read and the manga only had so many chapters made at the time. Luckily by the time that I remembered this series the novel had an official translation released up to part 3, the first novel anyhow. So I bought and read all available novels and subscribed to Google Play to get all novels as they released.

It actually took me awhile to watch the anime, I'm taking it slow watching it. It's neat to hear how the characters sound. Although it's a shame how much has to be cut in order to be an anime, but it makes sense.

My favourite character pre-Rozemyne is Benno. He was so fun and I found him charming. I liked how Myne bounced off him. Post-Rozemyne Ferdinand and Hartmut became my favourites. I was surprised how much I ended up liking Ferdinand since he was a lukewarm introduction, and Hartmut was such an odditie that I couldn't but be drawn to him haha.

The Characters

Myne

From the poor commoner family of a dye worker mother, Effa, and a gate soldier father, Gunther, and older sister Tuuli. She greatly loved and cared for. She requires constant care and supervision when allowed to venture outside her house, her first caretaker being her friend Lutz. Otherwise she can go a bit crazy with her motivation.

Lutz

Son of a textile worker mother, Karla, and woodworker father, Deid, Lutz is the youngest to three older brothers; Zasha, Sieg and Ralph. With impossible dreams of being a merchant despite being from a poor commoner family he decides to team-up with Myne and work towards her own dreams of bookmaking to reach his own dreams.

Spoilers Ahead

Ferdinand

High priest of Ehrenfest, the younger step-brother of Sylvester the archduke. Serious and constant yearning for true family relations, he looks after Myne after she arrives to the temple, and is a constant book gremlin in his ear. In part 5 he becomes her betrothed due to royal decree, she takes over Ahrensbach to save his life.

Rozemyne

Adopted daughter of the Archduke of Ehrenfest. She's a constant headache for all of her parents, both previous noble parents and her current. To protect her loved ones she is forced to take on the mantle of being the Divine Avatar of the Mestionora. To save the life of one she considers her family she becomes the new Aub of new duchy Alexandria.

Hannelore

Archduke candidate from Dunkelfelger, and friend of Rozemyne and is a part of her Library Committee that she created for fellow booklovers. She sadly isn't a strong reader but she is a hopeless romantic, easily becoming a massive fan of Elvira, Rozemyne's mother's, romance-centric book series. As much as she is a hopeless romantic, she is also just generally unlucky in romance, as Bluanfah and Liebeskhilfe haven't graced her a visit just yet.
